YES. IT IS I.
Discovered Talossa... not sure how, probably from conlang-related sources... in April/May 1997. Ben Madison loved me to start with. Then I became friends with Adiêns Glaçâ, Ben's political enemy. Worse, we started working on our own conlang for our autonomous province. So Ben started the first of many anti-newbie witchhunts against me and pressured the High Cort into not even letting my citizenship got to the Ziu. Adiêns renounced his citizenship in protest, and on 26 September 1997 we founded the Free Commonwealth of Penguinea. Penguinea was a noble experiment which fell to bits once the consensus about what we were doing was lost in around 2000, but I'm happy I was there for the golden age of micronationalism. The friendships I made with Penguineans have mostly lasted to this day, and many of us are now citizens of the Republic of Talossa.
(In hindsight, I believe that Penguinea was a tributary of the Talossan cultural tradition rather than a micronation unto itself, which would explain this.)
When I heard about the noble and brave break with tyranny - or as some would have it, betrayal and theft - of 1 June 2004, I turned up and said "Now THIS Talossa I want a part of". I then had the devil of a job explaining to the new Republicans that Ben Madison had told outrageous, bald-faced lies about me to discredit me. Nevertheless, I was admitted as a citizen before the end of the month.
I was the first Seneschál of the Republic, keeping that job for 18 months, and was elected to the first six Chambers of Deputies (our equivalent of the Cosâ). I am now Secretary of State of the Republic, head of l'Icastolâ (our equivalent of the CÚG) and president of els Zefençadéirs dàl Repúblicâ Talossán, our largest and most successful political party. I am assigned to the Maricopa district of the Republic's Great Southern Province.
Azul, és så vivádra Talossa.
