This is boring.
I suppose I should contribute a bit more around here instead of talking nuts. This is what happens when we've got nothing to argue about. There is nothing to talk about.
Alright, how about we talk about futbol. By that I mean Talossan futbol. I'm probably the guy that knows the most about the game. Anybody got any questions about futbol? Any Florencians want to join the Florencia CFT?
That should get the ball moving. No pun intended.

I think perhaps our passion for Futbol isn't flaming that hot. Or maybe the financial turmoil has smitten us to the ground!

By that I mean Talossan futbol. I'm probably the guy that knows the most about the game. Hmph! Lord Hooligan and I wrote the book on the game. Well, mostly him. We have yet to organize an actual game, though. Maybe next TalossaFest! Even more likely if you can make it.

I'd like to play at T-Fest but where would we make a field?
I can play backer or runner, if you're making a roster. I've got a zoomer I made for Florencia that's got a B on it so I guess I'd have to play backer. What position would you and Hooligan play?

I'd like to play at T-Fest but where would we make a field? Probably be best to find some public soccer field (for the nets) and bring a few poles to stick in the ground on each side of them. I can play backer or runner, if you're making a roster. I've got a zoomer I made for Florencia that's got a B on it so I guess I'd have to play backer. What position would you and Hooligan play? If I could make it, I'd probably play nomad or protector. I'm GTA-challenged, though, so it'd be quite a trip for me. I live in California. Kudos on your zoomer, by the way. Very nice.

The only reason I asked about where we would play is because the last T-Fest didn't take place near a pitch. We could easily make a pitch if we found a soccer field. We'd need rump posts and uprights for the goal. We could use PVC or something, zip-tie them to the goal for the uprights and jam them in the ground for rump posts. The other big problem, which you already mentioned, is that we don't have enough players in or around the GTA. It's a 45 minute to a hour drive for me but I'm lucky. Have you ever seen the Florencia futbol website? You can click here to see it. I did my best to include some drills and tips for playing.

Yeah, if it looks like the next T-Fest will be well-attended, making it near a soccer field (or arranging a trip to a soccer field as part of the festivities) will have to be taken into account. Two teams of at least six willing participants each will be a challenge, though. It would help a lot if we could Talossanise some more Cestours (or near-Cestours) between now and then.
I saw your futbol site once. I really like it.

My nephew, who's a cestour, knows how to play the game. He plays quebec because he's got big hands. Dude's got a rocket arm I think that I could get him to play...maybe. My other nephew, Milân, he knows how to play too. I think he'd play runner. Are you sure about the number of players? I thought it was 7 a side at least. You might have to lend us some players.

My other nephew, Milân, he knows how to play too. I think he'd play runner. Cool! Pretty sure. There are six positions (quebec, keeper, runner, backer, protector, nomad) and each team needs at least one player at each position. If somebody wanted to play a game and only had eight or ten people available instead of twelve, maybe one or two positions could be dispensed with if absolutely necessary. Wonder what positions those would be.

Oh, that's right. I came up with the 7's team idea. You do only need 6 to play. As for getting rid of some positions, I'd say that nomads would go first. It's really hard to fit them into play, unless I've got a completely wrong view of nomads. You need to keep your protector because they tag in the other players. You could get rid of either a backer or a runner. The do basically the same thing, except...well you know the rules. I think we could manage 12 people. We could make it co-ed if we need to and two-hand touch or something if people are afraid of getting hit.

But if we take positions out of the game, both teams would end up getting mooted. If we did go with fewer players than the rules allow for, we'd have to suspend the moot rule.

So we could make do with 10 players, maybe 8 in a pinch. Of course, as you suggest, the moat rule would have to be modified accordingly. Co-ed and two-hand touch would probably make it more inviting.

10 is a pretty thin roster and 8 is cutting it way thin!
You think you could make it to T-Fest this year?

You think you could make it to T-Fest this year? I'd like to hope so, given that it's gonna be Talossa's big three-oh, but realistically, given the financial situation at the moment, probably not.

Futbol Talossan sounds intruiging. I must peruse the rules sometime, and perhaps organize a game for els Erteiers Vialeschti.
