www.change.org/ideas is a site that takes President-elect Barack Obama up on his offer to "open the doors of government and ask you to be involved in your own democracy again." Once you get an account (which is free and takes about 10 seconds), you can submit and vote for ideas. As it says on the site, "The "Top 10 Ideas for America" will be presented to the Obama Administration on Inauguration Day. We will then build a national campaign to advance each idea in Congress, marshaling the resources of Change.org, MySpace, and our dozens of partner organizations and millions of combined members." I'm telling you about this because I think you may be interested in one particular idea: Introducing Esperanto as a language taught in schools. (http://www.change.org/ideas/view/introduce_esperanto_as_a_foreign_language_subject_in_schools). I think people in Talossa may be interested in this because: a) There's a sizeable Talossan Esperantist community. b) If you learn one language (eg Esperanto), you can learn another language (eg Talossan) more quickly, and I believe that you'd get more people into Talossa through the conlang aspect. c) It would teach people that just because something is "new" or "artificial" (eg Esperanto or Talossa) it isn't necessarily bad. d) This is probably the only way Barack Obama will even hear about Esperanto. So, if you like the sound of that, go there and vote!
